COVID-19 Reopening Protocol

Upon Arrival

Come on up and have a seat at the top of the elevator and we will be with you shortly! Text if you have any questions or concerns. 


We use a Covid-19 certified spray cleaner for all surfaces touched by a patient/client during the course of a session. Each piece of equipment/furniture made contact with is to be sanitized between sessions. All linens used during a session must be changed, washed, and sanitized prior to reuse. Because of this, we will remove the table warmer and the blanket from the table. Feel free to bring a blanket if you would like. 


It is required that client and practitioner wear a mask. It can be cloth or disposable. I will have cloth available for sale. The sale proceeds will go towards the Brooklyn Bailout fund, to secure freedom to immigrants in ICE detention centers. Chaya may shift to donating to different organizations over time, all related to BLACK LIVES MATTER. 

If you cannot afford a mask, reach out and let Chaya know. We have chosen not to purchase disposable masks due to environmental impact and have chosen to purchase organic bamboo masks from a local grassroots company in Maine to support the economy of the people. 

If wearing a covering over your mouth and nose brings up unmanageable anxiety, please reach out and we will make accommodations together. 

Hand Washing

Both client and practitioner will practice handwashing hygiene. Client will be invited to wash or sanitize hands upon arrival, and practitioner will wash hands before and after each client. Handwashing should last as long as it takes to sing Happy Birthday!

Health Requirements

Clients/patients are asked to cancel if they personally have or have exposure to anyone with any flu like symptoms including but not limited to:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell

Chaya reserves the right to cancel any session should a client demonstrate any of these symptoms.

Scheduling of Clients

Clients are to be scheduled with 15 minutes between start times to allow staff time to clean while also minimizing client interaction.
