Helleborus is one of the first flowers to emerge from the cold depths of winter in later March. She appears soft and delicate AND holds within unparalleled strength and resilience to stand tall towards the sun as we leave behind the cold darkness of the internal winter. The medicine is that of emergence from the darkness. An invitation to open to the promise, hope and light of spring. She lives in the understory of trees, taking in the fullness of the emerging sun before the trees fill in and allow her the loving cover and protection of the their embrace.
